Does anyone know how to manage this
I had my first signs of PR early January after I got a bit sick over Christmas break. It was super small purplish red spot (I am black and have brown skin), and it started to spread along my neck and jaw area. 1 weeks later I went to the doctor and was given an anti fungal which did nothing and may have just made it worse as the spots spread more. I have used the anti fungal for about 2 weeks and just recently stopped after going to the doctor and they basically said they had no idea what it was and referred me to a dermatologist which they said could take up to 2 months :/
Though I’m not completely sure what the spots are they look a lot like the other PR posts I am seeing on this subreddit. My spots are really dark but they are drying which I think is a good sign, but it’s really affected my confidence.
Aside from the spots I have gotten these weird dry patches on my face and one on my arm, I haven’t been itchy but definitely super dry and sensitive.
I am hoping I am near the end of my journey as the rash is a lot flatter than before but I am really concerned about scarring since I am black.
If anyone has had a similar experience or could share some advice that would be amazing.
- also I didn’t have a herald patch or at least one that I could see, they just started out of nowhere
